Tottenham Hotspur have internally discussed the possibility of hiring Fulham manager Marco Silva, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

What's the latest on Silva to Spurs?

The Whites head coach has been sporadically mentioned by sections of the press as a Spurs managerial target and a name on their long shortlist. He joins the likes of Roberto De Zerbi (Brighton) and Thomas Frank (Brentford) as Premier League managers who could be considered to replace Antonio Conte.

Indeed, a lot of the noise has been centred around the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique – who are currently readily-available free agents – alongside Zinedine Zidane.

The aforementioned quartet arguably stand out as Tottenham's most prestigious options, but with Chelsea also in the running for those names, it is perhaps prudent for chairman Daniel Levy to have sold alternative options – with the likes of Arne Slot (Feyenoord) and Oliver Glasner (Eintracht Frankfurt) also mentioned.

Silva is attracting Spurs' interest, according to various reports, with 90min even recently claiming that the 45-year-old is stalling on a new deal amid their fondness.

CBS Sports reporter Jacobs, writing via his CaughtOffside substack (paywall), has now shared his own update.

The journalist backs recent claims that the former Olympiacos boss is an option for Spurs, stating that Silva has been 'mentioned internally' at Hotspur Way alongside De Zerbi. While the latter man is 'not attainable' right now, no such thing is said of Silva, who could leave Craven Cottage at the end of next season as a free agent.

What could Silva bring to Spurs?

The 4-2-3-1 tactician, who interestingly shares the same agent as former Spurs and Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas, could actually be a shrewd backup option if Levy cannot get his hands on Nagelsmann or Pochettino.

Since guiding Fulham back to the top flight, the west Londoners have been on a roll overall under Silva – leapfrogging rivals Chelsea in the table whilst also remaining in the hunt for a UEFA Europa Conference League place.

Spurs journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke summed it up perfectly earlier in the campaign, raving over Fulham's style of play and sending a tribute to the 'sensational' Silva, stating:

"Brilliant movement in attack and they all work so hard for each other. Marco Silva is doing a sensational job there, and proving a lot of people wrong."

With no sign of Fulham agreeing an extension just yet, this could well be one to watch for Spurs supporters.

Reliable newspaper The Times has now backed Tottenham Hotspur's interest in Feyenoord boss Arne Slot, with Spurs "keen" on his appointment.

Who could Spurs hire to succeed Conte?

Chairman Daniel Levy has commenced his search for a new Lilywhites manager after parting ways with former boss Antonio Conte, and the club chief's next move will be a crucial one.

The north Londoners will be desperate to avoid a long-winded and drawn-out managerial search, which was the case in 2021 after they sacked Jose Mourinho. Indeed, it took a quite ridiculous 72 days for Levy to find his successor for Mourinho in ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese lasted less than five months before being dismissed, prompting Spurs to turn to Conte before, eventually, Tottenham manage to find themselves in the same position yet again.

Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique and Zinedine Zidane arguably stand out as the most elite names to have been linked with the job. The likes of Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers have also been mentioned as potential free-agent options.

Meanwhile, the likes of Oliver Glasner (Wolfsburg), Vincent Kompany (Burnley) and Slot appear as the in-work candidates attracting most of Spurs' attention.

Now, as per The Times, it appears Tottenham are certainly interested in a move for Slot with the prestigious news outlet backing their links. They claim Spurs, alongside West Ham and Crystal Palace, are 'keen' on appointing the 44-year-old.

It's added that Slot has already rejected another Premier League job, specifically when Leeds United came calling in their previous search for Jesse Marsch's replacement.

Tottenham and Levy apparently want a 'young, progressive coach' to replace Conte and Slot fits that mould – especially since he prefers a possession-based, attack-minded style which has earned him comparisons to Marcelo Bielsa.

What could Slot bring to Spurs?

Barring the aforementioned credentials, Slot is garnering quite the reputation in his home country as he attempts to clinch the Eredivisie title with Feyenoord.

He's arguably unlucky not to already have more silverware on his CV, having reached the UEFA Europa Conference League final last year only to taste defeat.

Slot, however, is now truly on the verge of winning a first-ever league title, with his imperious Feyenoord side losing just once in the league all season.

Even before this campaign, journalists like Karan Tejwani heralded the tactician's 'impressive' job at Feyenoord and called him 'one of the best coaches in the Netherlands'.

The prospect of managing in England could well tempt the exciting coach, but after this update, it's not just Tottenham who are circling.

It is fair to say that it has been a mixed season for Liverpool to date, with the Merseyside outfit currently looking likely to miss out on Champions League qualification, albeit while enjoying recent, statement wins against both Manchester United and Leeds United.

As manager Jurgen Klopp himself has noted, the Reds are in something of a "transition" period, with a squad rebuild perhaps needed to replace their ageing, long-serving stars.

The forward line, in particular, is undergoing something of a refresh with Sadio Mane having departed last summer and with Roberto Firmino set to be on his way at the end of the current campaign – while Mohamed Salah is now into his thirties.

While the club have already moved to strengthen with the recent signings of the likes of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, in the long-term there could also be a chance to promote a handful of exciting young talents from the youth set-up, with Stefan Bajcetic one of the more notable graduates of late.

Another starlet who has also been handed a brief chance to impress at senior level of late is 17-year-old, Ben Doak, with the "explosive winger" – as per talent scout Jacek Kulig – having made five first-team appearances since joining from Celtic last year.

While still early days in his time in England, the young Scot has already caught the attention of key individuals after being dubbed a "huge talent" by journalist Barry Anderson, while club legend Kenny Dalglish lauded the forward as "brilliant" last month.

The hope will be that the devastating talent can be the "future" of the club – as per Kulig – with there a chance for Klopp to fashion an exciting forward partnership in the years to come involving Doak and another teen sensation, Lewis Koumas.

Who is Liverpool's Lewis Koumas?

The young "all-rounder" – as per Liverpool Echo's Ian Doyle – had begun life in a midfield berth although is beginning to flourish as a central striker, having scored ten goals in just ten games at Premier League U18 level.

As Doyle suggested, it was a real "statement of intent" for the prolific marksman to be handed a professional contract so soon after turning 17, with Liverpool keen to tie down their emerging superstar.

The £180-per-week ace has clearly been highly-regard by those in the know over an extended period, with his former youth coach Danny Hart having branded him "unreal" when watching the wonderkid on trial, as per The Athletic.

The promising Englishman would certainly be able to receive quality service from the aforementioned Doak if the pair were to be partnered in the first team together in future, with the latter man having been praised for his "good vision" and for "always looking for his teammates", as per Dalglish.

With the former Hoops star offering a "fearless" threat from the flanks – as per Anderson – and with Koumas showcasing his clinical nature through the middle, Liverpool could have their next standout duo on their hands, potentially going on to emulate the current partnership of Firmino and Salah.

Those two experienced figures have been integral to the success of Klopp's side in recent years, with Salah, in particular, leading the way with his devastating ability on the flanks, having scored 182 goals in 297 games for the club to date from his right-sided berth.

Like Doak, the Egyptian is also rather unselfish having provided 74 assists in that time as a marker of his creative flair, dovetailing nicely with Firmino as the latter man has operated in a centre-forward berth.

The Brazil international no doubt possesses similar traits to that of young Koumas, with the senior figure also a real threat in attack having netted 109 times in 306 games for the club, while the two forwards have both impressed due to their stellar work ethic.

In the case of the teen, the highly-rated ace was lauded by journalist Andy Kelly for having "worked his socks off" in one appearance this season, while Firmino has been praised by pundit Gary Neville in the recent past for his "unbelievable" work off the ball.

That should indicate that Koumas is an heir apparent to the departing 31-year-old, while Doak can follow in the footsteps of Salah by wreaking havoc on the flanks – a truly mouthwatering prospect indeed for Klopp and co.

The Red Devils look set to be busy in the transfer market ahead of Erik ten Hag’s second season in charge, with a new midfielder and forward also on the wishlist.

The club could also be under new ownership, and there has been plenty of speculation over a move for Disasi. Reports have suggested that the Red Devils are in pole position to sign the France international, who has been described as a "complete" defender by talent scout Jacek Kulig, and a further update has now emerged.

Sport Witness relayed an update from L’Equipe in the last 48 hours regarding Disasi, claiming that the Red Devils could be on the search to replace Harry Maguire after ‘some rather dire performances at the back of late’, with the defender, on £200,000-a-week, linked with a move to top-four rivals Newcastle.

They stated on Disasi that he is certain to leave Monaco this summer, with United well-placed to secure a transfer. Talks were held with the player’s representatives a month ago, with a fee in the region of €35m-€45m possibly enough to get a deal over the line.

Is Disasi an upgrade on Maguire?

Maguire has struggled in recent weeks and was labelled as a walking disaster by Samuel Lukchurst against Nottingham Forest earlier this month.

Statistically, the 30-year-old has been United’s 14th-best player in the Premier League this season and as per WhoScored, Disasi has outperformed the Englishman during the current campaign for overall match rating as well as tackles, interceptions and clearances per 90.

Manchester United will not look to bring in Wout Weghorst from Burnley on a long-term basis following his short-term loan deal at Old Trafford, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

What's the latest transfer news involving Wout Weghorst?

As per Lancs Live, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has detailed that he will hold discussions with Weghorst over his future at Turf Moor at the end of this term.

Kompany said: “It’s a little bit difficult to have any discussions at all at the moment because we’re all in the cutting edge moments of the season. You think that those conversations could happen sooner, but in reality it’s difficult because you’re so focused on getting over the line with your goals.

“He has his goals, he wants United to be in the Champions League and he wants to win the FA Cup if possible. We have our own goals, we still want to get the trophy over the line, but the moments will happen and I’m looking forward to having that conversation.”

Football Insider have claimed that Manchester United have already decided that they won't be taking up the opportunity to sign Weghorst in the summer, with the Red Devils set to target an elite centre-forward in the forthcoming transfer window.

Weghorst was brought to Old Trafford on a loan basis from Burnley in January, in a deal that saw his temporary stay on loan at Besiktas terminated to facilitate the move.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist O'Rourke doesn't think that Manchester United will be willing to sign Weghorst on a permanent deal from Burnley.

O'Rourke said: "I think Manchester United aren't planning on signing Wout Weghorst on a permanent basis. It was a stop-gap move late in the last January transfer window just to fill the void following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.

"He's come in and done a decent job, but he hasn't scored enough goals. If he'd had scored more goals and maybe played better, there might have been a better chance of the deal becoming permanent."

Should Manchester United look to sign Wout Weghorst on a permanent deal?

By all means, Weghorst, who is "admired" by Ten Hag, has done a decent job leading the line for the Red Devils and has given Erik Ten Hag another option in attack; however, it looks unlikely that he will stay at Manchester United on a permanent basis.

Since arriving at Old Trafford, the Netherlands international has made 25 appearances in all competitions, registering two goals and three assists, as per Transfermarkt.

Despite his lack of goals, Weghorst has been an industrious presence in the Manchester United frontline, as per FBRef, ranking in the top 2% of forwards in Europe's top five divisions for making blocks, with an average of 1.34 per match per 90 minutes across the last 365 days.

Nevertheless, it looks as if Weghorst's stay at Manchester United may be short and sweet as Ten Hag looks to recruit a world-class striker ahead of 2023/24.
