Newcastle United are reportedly believed to be interested in completing an audacious triple signing of three players from the same club this summer.

After a disappointing season overall, Eddie Howe is under no illusions as to how important it is to nail their summer transfer business, in order to mount a genuine top-four challenge in the Premier League next term. Newcastle certainly aren't shy when it comes to being linked with various players, with additions required at the back, in midfield and in the attacking third.

One of the most recent reports has claimed that Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo and Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly could both head to St James' Park on free transfers at the end of the season. That would help ease Newcastle's injury woes at the back, with both Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles still expected to be out for many months with serious knee issues.

According to an exciting claim from Football Insider, Newcastle are keen on signing Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise this summer, eyeing a triple swoop for the Crystal Palace trio.

It is thought that the Magpies have a "strong interest" in them, and the report also says that they are "close to appointing Palace technical director Dougie Freedman to replace Dan Ashworth", perhaps explaining why this rumour has emerged.

This is such an encouraging update, in terms of seeing the level of ambition on show from PIF, even though they will also have to be aware of financial regulations and not risk punishments moving forward, as has been the case with Forest and Everton this season.

Guehi, Eze and Olise all stand out as fantastic options in their respective positions, with the former a consistently strong performer at the heart of Palace's defence alongside Joachim Andersen. He has averaged 3.6 clearances per match throughout the current campaign, and could well feel that this summer is the time to enjoy a new challenge.

Meanwhile, Eze is a brilliant player to watch, finding another gear in recent times and scoring nine goals in the Premier League this season, while Olise is similarly gifted in his wide role, netting on 10 occasions in only 13 league starts, including an excellent brace against Manchester United earlier this month.

Manchester City are considering signing a £150,000-a-week playmaker as Pep Guardiola begins his preparations for next season.

City have become one of the most dominant teams in English football under the guidance of Pep, thanks in no small part to his insistence on refreshing the team constantly, refusing to let sentiment take precedence in matters of squad planning.

The Sky Blues have notched five league titles under the Spaniard (six with a win on Sunday), won two different trebles, and if they win the league again this weekend, Pep will be the first manager in Premier League history to win four consecutive titles in a row – beating the current record held by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Despite Pep having already done everything there is to do in the Premier League with the Manchester outfit, it does not appear as though he is looking to take his foot off the gas anytime soon, with City already being linked with a number of names heading into the 2024 summer transfer window.

David Ornstein, speaking over the weekend, claimed that Manchester City are rivalling Liverpool for the signing of Anthony Gordon this summer. However, the Newcastle United ace is expected to remain at St James' Park.

Elsewhere, it was reported recently that Manchester City "have spoken to Jeremie Frimpong" and that the defender "has opened discussions" about a move back to his former side, in a far more senior role than when he left. Arsenal are also said to have joined Manchester City in the battle for Newcastle and Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

With Arsenal now an established Champions League club, they may have a decent chance of pipping the Cityzens to the signing of Bruno. Should that happen, though, it appears City have another midfield option lined up anyway.

Man City considering "perfect" star for Pep's project

The player in question is another Brazilian in the form of West Ham's Lucas Paqueta. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, speaking to Caught Offside, Manchester City are considering Lucas Paqueta as a potential transfer target as he is seen as a "perfect" signing for Pep Guardiola’s project.

“Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City could remain a story to watch, as some fans have been asking me again about links with the West Ham United midfielder," Romano said.

“I have no idea of the betting stuff and of the legal situation surrounding the player, but in terms of transfer market, Paqueta remains high on Man City’s list for the summer. The player would also be keen on the move and City keep considering him one of the perfect players for Pep Guardiola’s project. But again, we have to see what happens with that issue before understanding Paqueta’s future.”

Romano does not mention a transfer fee for Paqueta but the South American is unlikely to come cheap. He is under contract at the London Stadium until 2027 earning £150,000-a-week and is valued at around £60m by Transfermarket.com. The 26-year-old has made 88 appearances for West Ham in all competitions, scoring 13 and assisting 14 in that time.

PARADO, PARADÃO!
Os primeiros minutos da partida foram sonolentos e de pouca emoção. O CSA apareceu mais ao ataque, mas não criou nada de tão perigoso. O Botafogo, como em outros jogos, teve dificuldade de fazer a bola circular no meio-campo e chegar ao terço final.

PRA FECHAR EM ALTA!
A impressão, por tudo que tinha acontecido, era de que o primeiro tempo terminaria sem gols, mas o Botafogo mudou o rumo dessa história. Já nos minutos finais, Rafael Navarro recebeu no ataque, brigou com a defesa e contou com uma falha dos zagueiros do CSA para tocar a Marco Antônio, que, cara a cara com o goleiro, finalizou sem chances de defesa.

REPLAY?
O segundo tempo iniciou com um lance bem parecido com o fim da etapa complementar. Após lançamento, Rafael Navarro venceu dos dois zagueiros do CSA no corpo e rolou para Diego Gonçalves, que bateu cruzado para vencer o goleiro Thiago Rodrigues e dobrar a vantagem do Botafogo.

NA PRESSÃO!
O gol não diminuiu o ritmo do Botafogo em busca de mais vantagem no placar. Após dobrar a folga, o Alvinegro colocou duas bolas na trave em sequência: a primeira foi com Diego Gonçalves, após boa jogada envolvendo Marco Antônio e Rafael Navarro. A segunda, em uma cobrança de falta e desvio na defesa.

Chay também teve uma grande chance, mas parou no goleiro Thiago Rodrigues. O camisa 14 arrancou, sozinho, desde o círculo central, deixou três marcadores para trás e ficou perto de fazer um golaço, mas o arqueiro foi bem para fazer a defesa.
