Ovacionado pela torcida do São Paulo durante diversos momentos da partida, o atacante entrou no lugar de Andrés Colorado no segundo tempo. Após Vueden marcar pênalti para a equipe, o camisa 11 foi o responsável pela cobrança e desempatou o placar, garantindo mais três pontos para o Tricolor paulista na tabela do Brasileirão 2022.

Este foi o segundo gol de pênalti do jogador nesta temporada. Contra o Ayacucho, pela Sul-Americana, também cobrou e marcou.

Porém, neste ano, não participou da pré-temporada após enfrentar umacontratura na panturrilha, e assim, perdeu parte do seu ritmo de jogo, uma vez que no último ano era praticamente titular absoluto do São Paulo.

Luciano também foi afetado pelo rodízio de jogadores adotado pelo técnico Rogério Ceni. O atacante esteve presente em quinze dos 26 jogos disputados pelo time e somou quatro gols em onze vitórias, dois empates e duas derrotas. Ao todo, foram 665 minutos em campo.

Após a vitória no clássico, Luciano falou sobre sua sequência de jogos, destacou que considera o elenco do Tricolor paulista forte e afirmou haver a necessidade de “esperar a sua vez”.

-Tenho que esperar minha vez de ter sequência. Até porque temos muito bons jogadores, muita qualidade no elenco e eu falei há um tempo que preciso de sequência, mas também sei esperar. Daqui uns dias, se Deus quiser, estarei jogando mais jogos – disse.

É comum em todos os jogos ouvir gritos e cantos da torcida em homenagem ao jogador, pedindo para que o camisa 11 entre o campo. Aclamado pelos torcedores, o atleta destacou que considera muito sentir este carinho, mas novamente, ressaltou ser preciso esperar para que suas oportunidades cheguem, exemplificando com o gol que marcou nesta segunda-feira (2).

-Sentimento muito bom, você quer estar jogando o tempo todo, participante, mas é o que eu falei nosso grupo é muito qualificado, precisamos esperar nossas oportunidades como eu fiz hoje e, graças a Deus, fiz o gol – concluiu.

Até o momento, no Campeonato Brasileiro, Luciano é o vice-artilheiro da competição, com dois gols em dois jogos até o momento, já que também marcou contra o Athletico-PR, na estreia das equipes na competição. O jogador está somente atrás de Calleri, que somou quatro gols em cinco jogos.

Por fim, também após a partida, comentou sobre uma conversa que teve com Muricy Ramalho, sobre concentração nos jogos e problemas com arbitragem. De acordo com ele, é preciso esperar o momento certo para evitar mais lesões nesta temporada.

-Falei muito com o Muricy (coordenador de futebol), preciso esquecer a arbitragem e concentrar mais nos jogos. Tem que esperar momento certo pra voltar a jogar, tive muitas lesões também. Estamos tendo cuidado pra não machucar mais – comentou Luciano.

O São Paulo volta a campo na próxima quinta-feira (5) contra o Everton-CHI, às 19h15, no Chile. A partida será válida pela Copa Sul-Americana. Esta pode ser mais uma oportunidade de Luciano se destacar e reconquistar mais ainda seu espaço.

Tottenham Hotspur still have a number of weeks left to dip into the market before the January transfer window officially slams shut at the start of next month.

The less-than-convincing win over non-league outfit Tamworth in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday was a timely reminder that Ange Postecoglou’s squad is still not up to scratch.

They needed an own goal and strikes from substitute Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson to beat the National League side in extra time, after failing to find the back of the net in regulation time.

The clash was a big opportunity for some of the fringe players within the squad to put their hand up and show Postecoglou that they are ready to fight for a first-team spot moving forward for the rest of the season.

Sergio Reguilon and Timo Werner were two players who were given a chance to showcase what they can do in a Spurs shirt, and they both failed to advance their cause for a starting berth in the Premier League.

The German forward, in particular, was disappointing and has endured a frustrating season since the club opted to extend his loan from RB Leipzig until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

The former Chelsea striker has been utilised as both a left-sided winger and as a central forward at times across all competitions by Postecoglou this season, and struggled in both roles.

His dull showing against Tamworth, missing two ‘big chances’, extended the attacker’s run of games without a goal or an assist to ten matches in all competitions, which illustrates the lack of impact he has made at the top end of the pitch for Spurs.

Put simply, Werner has not offered enough in the final third to justify the club keeping him beyond the end of his current loan from RB Leipzig, which is due to end in the summer.

The German speedster scored two goals and provided three assists in 13 Premier League matches in the second half of last season at Spurs, which was a solid but unspectacular return in his first loan spell at the club.

Werner was then brought back for a second loan stint with Tottenham this term and his output has decreased, with zero goals in 17 league outings so far.

As you can see in the table above, the 28-year-old flop has offered very little in front of goal in the Premier League, with just three goal contributions in 17 matches.

The experienced forward has, simply, not done enough in the final third to warrant Spurs keeping hold of him on a permanent deal and that is why Daniel Levy must dip into the transfer market to find a suitable replacement for Postecoglou.

According to GIVEMESPORT over the weekend, Spurs are still in the race to complete a deal for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani in the January transfer window.

The report claims that Tottenham, Manchester United, and Juventus are all showing an interest in the France international, who is available to move on from the Ligue 1 champions.

It states that PSG are open to allowing him to move away on loan, amid their pursuit of Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but will only do so if there is an obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan, with a fee of £50m being demanded.

The outlet adds that Spurs have made an offer but are currently at a stalemate in negotiations as they are not prepared to include an obligation, over an option, to make the deal permanent at this moment in time.

Kolo Muani is happy to consider a move to link up with the Premier League side but until either Tottenham or PSG budge in their respective stances, there is nothing to consider.

Levy must, now be prepared to include an obligation to make the deal permanent for £50m in the summer because Spurs could finally move on from Werner by bringing the French star in as his replacement, for the next five months on loan and then permanently in the summer.

Why Spurs should sign Randal Kolo Muani

You may think of his huge miss in the 2022 World Cup final for France against Argentina or his return of just two goals in Ligue 1 when you think of Kolo Muani, but neither of those things are a fair reflection of what Spurs could reasonably expect from him.

The France international, firstly, is a versatile attacker who could offer Tottenham quality in a variety of positions, as he is capable of playing on the left, on the right, or through the middle, which means that the 26-year-old ace can cover the roles that Werner has been playing in.

As you can see in the video above, Kolo Muani has also previously showcased his quality at the top end of the pitch in a major European league in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt.

He produced 26 goals and 17 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions for the German side before his move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, which was followed by a return of nine goals and six assists in 40 matches last season.

As you can see in the table above, the French dynamo provided regular quality as both a scorer and a creator during his last season with Frankfurt in the Bundesliga

Kolo Muani, who was described as “remarkable” by German legend Lothar Matthaus, could benefit from a return to regular game time, having started just 15 Ligue 1 matches since the start of last season, and that is what Spurs could offer.

If Postecoglou could get him back to the levels he displayed with Frankfurt then he would, quite simply, be a huge upgrade on Werner and allow Tottenham to move the German forward on, whilst also being worth the £50m outlay for his services in the summer.

Danni Wyatt expects to slip back into England’s middle order for the first ODI against South Africa at Wantage Road on Monday, despite her starring role as an opener in the teams’ last meeting, in the World Cup semi-final at Christchurch in March.Wyatt, 31, made the highest score of her international career – an explosive 129 from 125 balls – as England atoned for their tense three-wicket loss at Mount Maunganui in the group stages to end South Africa’s dreams of a maiden World Cup final appearance with a 137-run victory.However, Wyatt was unable to follow up that display in the final, making 4 from five balls as Australia sealed their indomitable campaign with an emphatic 71-run win. And now, with England embarking on a new three-year white-ball cycle, the likelihood is that Emma Lamb will be given the chance to resume the opening partnership with Tammy Beaumont that was launched in the recent Test at Taunton.”I’m happy to bat wherever,” Wyatt said. “I’ve been up and down the order, but that’s fine. I’m just happy to be in the starting eleven. Chelsea managed to ease past Morecambe in the FA Cup third round, despite only being 1-0 up at half-time at Stamford Bridge. A first-half deflected strike from Tosin Adarabioyo was the only difference between the sides, after Christopher Nkunku’s penalty was saved.

Second-half goals from Nkunku, João Félix (x2) and Adarabioyo made it 5-0, with half-time substitutions of Malo Gusto, Marc Cucurella and Jadon Sancho improving the overall performance in that second half.

Enzo Maresca’s side held 81% possession, took 28 shots in the game and created four big chances in the game, albeit with there having been a mixed bag of performances.

Tosin's performance vs Morecambe

It was the unlikely brace from Adarabioyo that caught the headlines, as the central defender smashed two goals in from outside the box, having been given the space to shoot on both occasions by the Morecambe deep defensive line.

The 27-year-old scored two goals, made one clearance, one block and one interception. He also won all four of his aerial duels contested and made 93% of his passes with 107 touches in the game.

Adarabioyo’s role in this game was extremely important, with Morecambe dropping off so deep, the space was for him to advance, either dragging the opposition striker towards him to make space for his defensive partner (Axel Disasi) or forcing them even deeper, making room for those long-shot chances.

Despite the good performance from Adarabioyo and a few others, especially in the first half, Chelsea fans were left with a lot to be desired. One individual who failed to have his imprint on the game was Marc Guiu, who started up front in the place of Nicolas Jackson.

Why Chelsea need an upgrade on Guiu

Guiu was awarded a 4/10 match rating from GOAL for his performance, only managing 11 touches in the game, with nine accurate passes.

The 19-year-old striker was signed from Barcelona this summer for a fee of around £5m, already making 12 appearances for the Blues since joining, scoring six goals.

The stats backed up the fact that Guiu felt anonymous in the game, with Filip Jorgensen having more touches (29) than the striker. As per usual, the Spanish youngster worked hard, engaging in duels all over the pitch, but unfortunately losing all four of those duels (both ground and aerial).

Guiu did make 100% of his passes (nine of nine), but much of his involvement was easily dealt with by the Morecambe defensive unit. This was a game where Guiu had the chance to continue knocking on the door for more Premier League substitute minutes, but a lack of involvement may actually cause Maresca to push for another striker option.

Whilst Guiu has shown signs in his short stint at Chelsea so far, he is clearly a raw talent who needs time and minutes to develop, which could mean a loan best suits his development plan at this current time.

Therefore, as has already been suggested for a while, the Blues would need to acquire another striker option, as an upgrade on Guiu, to challenge Jackson.

The 27-year-old has gone up a level since working under Hansi Flick, playing mostly as a left-winger, often being the outlet for that Barcelona side, which has seen his output skyrocket this campaign. Raphinha can also play through the middle and on the right-wing, offering versatility.

Raphinha has made 30 appearances for Barcelona so far this season, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists.

How Raphinha compares to Omar Marmoush

Much like Raphinha, Manchester City’s new forward, Omar Marmoush, can play a variety of positions, often playing in a front two for Frankfurt this season, but also having the capacity to play on the left-wing if needed, and deeper behind the striker in an attacking midfield position.

Marmoush has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Frankfurt this season, scoring an enormous 20 goals and supplying 14 assists.

As a result, the 25-year-old looks like a clear replacement for Julian Alvarez who left in the summer, bringing a versatile forward to the club who can work around and alongside Haaland in attacking areas to share the goals.
