If Leeds are promoted (yes, we know), they’ll need firepower to keep them up, and if they’re not, they’ll need the same to keep excitement high. To that end, Reece Brown can replace Samu Saiz and keep the Marcelo Bielsa project alive.

Football Insider believe Samu Saiz will be rejected by his loan club Getafe this summer, so Leeds are looking elsewhere to make sure they get some money for the attacking midfielder. Indeed, the same outlet also believe Reece Brown could move in to replace him.

The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals and made 14 assists from 41 appearances for League Two outfit Forest Green this season. That’s a very impressive tally at the 5th-placed side, and it proves he can add more killer instinct to the Whites’ line-up next season.

He can play in attacking midfield or down the left or right flanks, and Bielsa will be excited about his flexibility. In his fluid system, players able to cover different positions allows for quicker, more successful attacks, so he seems like a perfect fit.

He’ll be available on a free this summer, so there’s little risk to the transfer at all. That means the club can spend more of their money on buying defenders, which is certainly an area they’ll need to improve in if they do go up or even if they are forced to try for promotion again next season.

If the report is right, and Leeds have made an approach for Brown, it’ll be a decision they won’t regret. Getting rid of dead wood and replacing it with young talent will stand them in good stead for next season.

The strike was Rondon’s 10th Premier League goal of the season, whilst he has also recorded an eye-catching seven assists for the Magpies since signing on loan from West Brom – 17 goal involvements for a club who spent the season battling relegation is very good indeed.

After watching him tear them apart and even give Virgil van Dijk a headache, some Liverpool fans reckon the 29-year-old would be a handy signing.

Brendan Rodgers has not had the job long but he already seems to have made an impact on this Leicester side, they have picked up 19 points since he has arrived whilst Jamie Vardy is a man reborn after scoring ten times.

White is correct to be positive about the future as the east Midlands outfit has some superb young players like James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. With Rodgers in charge playing expansive, entertaining football and with a decent budget for the summer, could they be the team to break into the top six?

Even if they don’t manage to do that, one or both of the cup competitions next season could be really attacked and the Foxes would stand a very good chance of picking up some silverware.

Speaking on TalkSPORT (May 17, 6:25AM) Ray Parlour stated that he would be amazed if Marcelo Bielsa wasn’t the Leeds United manager at the start of next season.

The former Arsenal midfielder went on to praise the Argentine for the job he has done at Elland Road this season.

What’s been said then?

The footballer turned radio presenter was told be his co-host that there were rumours Bielsa would leave the club this summer.

“I’d be amazed by that,” said Parlour.

“He’s done a great job.

“They’ll be kicking themselves as they were in the top two for most of the season. I think Bielsa has done a great job and they’ll be absolutely gutted they’re not in the Premier League next season.

“They need to take stock now, have a good pre-season and have another go next season.”

Lack of knowledge

Parlour’s comments saying that he would be ‘amazed’ if Bielsa wasn’t at the club next year show a gap in the former midfielder’s knowledge about the current Leeds manager.

Bielsa famously doesn’t stick around at clubs for a long time and defeat in the playoffs may just be enough to push him out the door at Elland Road.

This is the same man who left Lazio after just two days, and left Lille after less than six months.

It shouldn’t come as a great surprise to anyone if Bielsa decides that now is the right time to walk away from Elland Road.

The Argentine will not be short of options if he does choose to leave the Championship side and he may want to have a crack at the Premier League before he bows out of the game.

Retirement may not be far off for the former Marseille boss, and this may be his last chance to move to a top club.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية موقف نادي مانشستر يونايتد من تكرار محاولاته لضم نجم بوروسيا دورتموند جادون سانشو في العام المقبل.

وكان سانشو أبرز أهداف الشياطين الحمر في فترة الانتقالات الصيفية لهذا العام.

وحاول مانشستر يونايتد الحصول على خدمات اللاعب الإنجليزي، ولكنه لم يتمكن من التوصل إلى اتفاق مع بوروسيا دورتموند حول الرسوم المالية.

وتمسكت إدارة بوروسيا دورتموند بفكرة الحصول على 110 ملايين جنيه إسترليني للموافقة على رحيل سانشو، وهو ما لم يوافق عليه مانشستر يونايتد.

ورغم ذلك، فإن مانشستر يونايتد مازال متمسكًا بفكرة نقل سانشو إلى الأولد ترافورد وتنوي تكرار محاولاته لحسم الصفقة في العام القادم، حسب ما أفادت شبكة “90min” الإنجليزية.

وأوضحت الشبكة أنه ليس من المستبعد أن يقدم مانشستر يونايتد عرضًا جديدًا لضم سانشو في موسم الانتقالات الشتوي مطلع العام الجديد.

وأشارت إلى أن المدرب أولي جونار سولشاير حريص على الظفر بخدمات سانشو لتعزيز صفوف الفريق، خاصة في ظل الأداء السيء في الموسم الحالي حتى الآن.

وأفادت أن مانشستر يونايتد يدرك جيدًا صعوبة موافقة دورتموند على رحيل سانشو منتصف الموسم، ولكن النادي الإنجليزي سيحاول في يناير المقبل، وإن لم تحدث الصفقة فسيحاول مجددًا في الصيف القادم.

ومن جهة أخرى، ذكرت الشبكة نفسها بأن مانشستر يونايتد يأمل حسم صفقة سانشو قبل بداية منافسات يورو في يونيو القادم، خشية تألق اللاعب وجذبه انتباه أندية كبرى، ومن ثم سيكون الأمر صعبًا على النادي الإنجليزي لضمه.

Former Celtic defender Jackie McNamara reckons Rangers’ summer arrival Jake Hastie will be out to replicate the season Ryan Kent has just had at Ibrox, as reported by Football Insider.

What’s he said?

With Kent heading back to his parent club Liverpool at the end of his season-long loan in Glasgow, Rangers have will be without one of their key attacking talents heading into the new campaign.

Manager Steven Gerrard has signed both Jordan Jones and Hastie on pre-contracts in an attempt to add some fresh talent to the flanks, but they both have a lot to live up to considering how popular Kent was with supporters.

McNamara believes Hastie has the talent to aim for those kind of performances though, telling Football Insider:

He could make the same impact as Kent, that’s what he’ll be looking for.

He has got pace, Kent’s got pace, I think he’s enjoying his time at Rangers when he was on loan, they’ve brought in Jordan Jones who’s got pace on that side, turning on his right foot similar to Kent.

Hastie’s different, he plays the other side for Motherwell, coming in on his left so maybe that’s, in certain games if they’re hoping to compete in Europe and in the league, then they’ll be hoping the players are able to push each other and build their squad.

Is Hastie the real deal?

The evidence is certainly strong that Hastie can make a big statement at Ibrox when he gets a chance in the team next season.

His burst of 2019 form at Motherwell caught most Scottish football fans by surprise but there’s no doubt he is now considered as one of the top emerging talents in the country.

Scoring 7 goals in 15 appearances, the 20-year-old has the power and pace to destroy defences in the Scottish Premiership and surrounded by better players at Rangers could be an absolute sensation in 2019/20.

He’s a different kind of performer compared to Kent but his athletic attributes are something the Gers don’t have right now. Adding that new dynamic to the first-team will be a major danger to Rangers’ opposition.
