Many Sunderland fans have been criticising the performance of Grant Leadbitter in their 1-1 draw with Lincoln City in League One on Saturday afternoon.

Lee Johnson’s team took the lead at the Stadium of Light through a rare goal for Callum McFadzean after a fine ball by Max Power, before Callum Morton equalised for the visitors just after the hour mark.

It will surely be seen as two points dropped by the hosts as they look to chase promotion back to the Championship at the end of the season.

Leadbitter was just one of a number of players who struggled throughout the game, losing out on four of his duels while also failing to record a single interception or tackle from the centre of midfield (Sofascore).

The former Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough man also lost possession of the ball no fewer than seven times in total over the course of the match, as he was substituted off in the 71st minute for Ross Stewart (Sofascore).

Apesar da preocupação com a inexperiência e a pouca bagagem da maior parte do grupo, o Corinthians tem confiança no potencial que há.

– A tabela do Brasileiro mostra que somos um bom time, e estamos brigando pelo título, só deixamos o G4 uma vez. Ano passado a maioria duvidou que o Corinthians chegasse ao título e chegamos – diz o otimista presidente Roberto de Andrade.

It’s been a promising month for West Brom’s goalkeepers, as both Sam Johnstone and Josh Griffiths have been called up for their respective England squads.

The Baggies no.1 was an injury replacement for Jordan Pickford in Gareth Southgate’s latest squad, whilst the 19-year-old starlet has been named alongside Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher for the U21 squad.

Both could lead a different path at the Hawthorns this summer.

Given Albion’s likely relegation to the Championship – only a shock turnaround will stop that from happening – the 27-year-old has been linked with several top-flight teams after a string of impressive performances between the sticks.

That has clearly culminated in international recognition.

Recent reports have surfaced linking Tottenham Hotspur with a move for the former Manchester United graduate ahead of the summer transfer window, as per The Sun.

Indeed, it will likely be hard for West Brom to keep hold of him.

Perhaps, then, his successor can be found in Griffiths.

The teenage glovesman has been impressing on-loan to League Two promotion hopefuls Cheltenham Town, undoubtedly helping them towards having the third-best defensive record in the division with 17 clean sheets in 35 starts.

Griffiths was only part of the Three Lions’ U19 set-up as recently as November so that only shows how quickly he has progressed this campaign.

Ex-Albion star Boaz Myhill, now development coach at the club, has spoken glowingly about the 19-year-old shot-stopper. He told BirminghamLive:

“One of his biggest strengths, not just that he’s a good player, is that he’s the kind of boy and man that people will do things for. Everybody likes Josh. It’s all credit to him that he’s having the season that he is,” before adding: “He’s got undoubted ability. I saw that when he was training with me as a player, when he was 16. He’s just continued to grow.”

It says a lot that he’s managed to push out a seasoned veteran in Scott Flinders, who has played over 550 times in his career and given the uncertainty between the sticks heading into the summer, Luke Dowling could save the club millions by pushing the manager to promote Griffiths next season.

He’s doing exactly what’s asked of him, and that’s all he can do for now. If Johnstone leaves, then the Baggies already have his long-term heir at the club.

Quando o jogo estava nos 40 minutos do segundo tempo e com 0 a 0 no placar após o Remo perder muitos gols, o Confiança conseguiu fazer o gol que garantiu o 2 a 1 sobre o Salgueiro. Em Natal, o ABC, que vencia a partida, acabou cedendo o empate ao ASA em 2 a 2 no último minuto, gol de Reinaldo Alagoano. Assim, só restava ao Remo e ao América buscarem o gol da vitória para atingirem os objetivos. Entre os 43 e os 51 minutos, América e ABC perderam três gols cada. E morreram juntos, o Remo não seguindo para a próxima fase e o América na Série D-2017.

واستطاع لاعبو الزمالك ترجمة السيطرة على أحداث اللقاء بإحراز هدفين في الدقائق الأخيرة من عمر الشوط الأول.

David Sullivan could deliver David Moyes a complete forward with a move to sign AC Sparta Prague’s in-demand Adam Hlozek this summer, after reports by Tuttosport, via Sport Witness, earlier this week claimed that West Ham United are among the hunt.

Hlozek has suitors all across Europe after catching the eyes of scouts with his efforts in the Fortuna Liga, and would likely have already taken the step to join an elite side were it not for a metatarsal fracture.

It is alleged that half of Europe and a quarter of Italy chased the 18-year-old sensation last year, and that he continues to have a wealth of admirers after returning to fitness this month.

Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are understood to be keen on offering Hlozek a move to the Bundesliga, while AC Milan, Juventus and SSC Napoli are eager to see the forward take the next step of his career in Italy.

West Ham are now the latest side to have eyes on Hlozek as he begins to prove his potential once again, after opening the season with four goals and five assists in six Fortuna Liga games before being consigned to the treatment room.

There are not thought to be many doubts over the 18-year-old regaining his form, while Juventus hope Pavel Nedved – now the Vice-President at the Allianz Stadium – can have an influence over his compatriot’s future.

Hlozek is likely to be the focus for many sides in the next transfer window with his current contract set to enter its final 12-months in June, although Sparta are already working on awarding the two-time Czech Republic international a new deal.

“We have already started negotiations on the extension of the contract,” Sporting Direct and former Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky told iSport recently.

Hlozek has been a first-team player for Sparta Prague since 2018 and already has 78 appearances to his name, in which the forward has offered 17 goals and 18 assists across all competitions.

The 18-year-old needs to add one more goal to his tally to make the current regular Fortuna Liga campaign his most prolific to date, while penning a current-best eight assists last term.

Rosicky has previously lauded Hlozek as a “great talent” not only for Sparta but also the Czech national side, and believes the attacker can grow into becoming a successful player as he has the ambitions to go far in the game.

Hlozek is not afraid to say no to tempting offers, either, having snubbed opportunities to join Bayern Munich and Arsenal in his youth, even though a trial with the Bundesliga side at the age of 15 left such an impression on the Bavarian powerhouse that they considered it to have been one of the best ever from a player so young.

He is now considered to be one of the top-50 young talents in world football and described by iSport as a ‘complete player’ worth 324 million Czech Krona (£10.5m). A fee that would be higher were it not for his lengthy spell out injured.

Reports by Tuttosport also describe Hlozek as ‘one of the most promising strikers in Europe’, with his powerful physique, good technique and excellent shot creating ‘exponential’ room for growth.

It remains to be seen if West Ham move for Hlozek in the summer and can edge-out the vast rival interest, but Sullivan would seemingly deliver Moyes a truly promising young forward.
