The only new face in the team is the wicketkeeper-batsman Saghir Hossain, who has 50 first-class matches to his credit.Earlier in the day, the Bangladesh Cricket Board named Mashrafe Mortaza as captain for the tour in place of the under-fire Mohammad Ashraful, who held the job for two years.Mahmudullah, earlier considered a limited-overs specialist, is yet to play a Test. He has since played five ODIs and a Twenty20. His first-class experience is only limited to nine matches, and he has taken 20 wickets with one five-wicket haul.Saghir, 22, has played for Bangladesh A and the under-19 team. Since his first-class debut for Khulna Division in 2004-05, he has scored 2184 runs with 11 half-centuries and a century and has effected 160 dismissals. David Moyes will be looking for his West Ham side to continue their momentum when they return to Premier League action later this afternoon.

The Irons have won four straight matches across all competitions since they returned from the international break and a fifth successive victory away at Aston Villa today could see them level on points with defending champions Manchester City, who are in third place.

West Ham head into the encounter after they knocked the aforementioned Citizens out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, whilst Dean Smith’s men are looking to change their fortunes down in 16th.

In midfield, Declan Rice returns to partner Tomas Soucek, who remains from midweek, whilst further up the pitch, it’s likely to be all change as Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and leading talisman Michail Antonio all return.

The attacking quartet replace Nikola Vlasic, Manuel Lanzini, Arthur Masuaku and Andriy Yarmolenko.

Incumbent Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently under scrutiny at Old Trafford amid reports of player unrest and a dismal run of results.

Before the international break, United suffered crushing derby defeats to bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, heaping pressure on the Norwegian, who is reportedly hanging on to the job by a thread.

As such, rumours have surfaced in recent weeks over who could replace the 48-year-old if United do decide to part company, with another update emerging involving Pochettino.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs’ former boss could ‘come into consideration’ in the event of a managerial change, and it is believed that the Argentine is open to a Premier League return in his next job.

Flocking to this claim, many Red Devils fans have been left excited, and it’s little wonder given Pochettino’s reputation, with ex-Lilywhites keeper Heurelho Gomes calling him a ‘football genius’ (ESPN Brasil via Sport Witness) and the 49-year-old guiding Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019.

Alexandre Mattos foi à Europa na semana passada e teve um novo encontro com a diretoria do Barcelona. O diretor de futebol do Palmeiras tenta assegurar que o clube catalão não antecipe a preferência de compra pelo zagueiro para o começo de 2018, e assim manter o jogador até a Copa do Mundo da Rússia.

A intenção do Verdão sempre foi vender o colombiano apenas depois do próximo Mundial, mas o Barça pode fazer valer o acordo antes, caso deseje e como tem sido noticiado com frequência pelos jornais espanhóis. Em fevereiro, Mattos e o presidente Maurício Galiotte foram à Espanha para acertar a preferência.

O Barcelona tem uma cláusula para comprar o zagueiro por 9 milhões de euros (R$ 33,5 milhões) – o Verdão adquiriu Mina do Santa Fé (COL), no passado, por cerca de R$ 11 milhões, valor pago pelo então presidente Paulo Nobre. Caso outro clube faça uma oferta maior, o time da Catalunha pode cobri-la.

Moisés deu um susto durante o jogo-treino entre Palmeiras e Red Bull, nesta sexta-feira, na Academia de Futebol. O camisa 10 levou uma entrada no tornozelo esquerdo que preocupou aos jogadores e a comissão técnica, mas no fim não se mostrou grave. Depois de ser atendido no campo, o meio-campista seguiu caminhando para o vestiário.

Ele havia começado o trabalho entre os titulares e recebeu a pancada bem próximo do banco de reservas. Durante o atendimento, Cuca mostrou incômodo com a força exagerada do adversário.

Os médicos Gustavo Magliocca e Gilberto Cunha fizeram exames na perna esquerda do atleta, mas não constataram nenhum problema grave, tanto que Moisés assistiu ao fim do primeiro tempo sem eles, no banco de reservas, junto de Cuca e do presidente Maurício Galiotte.

O jogador voltou a jogar há quatro partidas, depois de operar o joelho esquerdo, em fevereiro. Sua recuperação foi bem acima do esperado, tanto que Moisés retornou aos trabalhos depois de pouco mais de cinco meses – o prazo poderia chegar até a nove meses.

Ele terá ainda uma semana livre para se condicionar pensando na próxima partida do Palmeiras. O time voltará a jogar apenas no dia 9, contra o Atlético-MG, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro.
