Everton Join The Race To Sign £100-p/w Teenage Striker

Everton have joined the race to sign Hamilton Academical striker Ryan One this summer, according to reports.

Who is Ryan One?

One is an academy graduate at the Fountain of Youth Stadium having worked his way up through the various youth ranks to get promoted to the first-team last summer, where he’s made a total of 28 appearances to date.

However, the 16-year-old was out of contract at the end of last month and he’s not yet been offered the chance to extend his stay with John Rankin’s side, meaning that as it stands, he’s set to depart as a free agent and will be available on the market for absolutely nothing.

The Scottish Championship outfit have also recently been relegated to the third-tier north of the border so the teenager could be hoping to find a new club at a higher level to test himself and progress his career, and it’s fair to say that he’s got plenty of admirers queuing up to secure his services.

Are Everton signing One?

According to TEAMtalk, Everton, Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford and Bournemouth are all keen to bring One to the Premier League. The Toffees and Sean Dyche are “checking” on the forward and have been “watching” him for “most of the season”.

Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic and Glasgow Rangers were also “keeping tabs” on the talented prospect, but it’s believed that a move to the top-flight in England would be “hard for him to turn down”.

Everton manager Sean Dyche.

Could One be a good addition for Dyche?

Everton will know that One – having only ever made 28 appearances (855 minutes) throughout his career – is certainly not a player ready to be considered for the first-team, but with the promising signs that he’s showing, he would be an exciting recruit for the long-term future of the club.

The Scotland U17 international, who earns £100-per-week, has scored two goals since being introduced to the senior fold and has already had a taste of success having won the Scottish Challenge Cup during his debut professional campaign in 2022/23, so he will continue to have an eye on securing silverware as he moves into the next stage of his development.

One also has the versatility to operate everywhere across the frontline, including in his natural position as a centre-forward but also out wide on both the left and right flanks, which will no doubt be an attractive attribute to the hierarchy and is a quality that is useful to have in the building if he ever did become a regular under Dyche.

Liverpool Could Sign ‘Fantastic’ £52m Star Over Kone

Liverpool technical director Jorg Schmadtke will be working relentlessly this summer to complete apt signings to take the Merseyside outfit back to the forefront ahead of the 23/24 campaign.

What's the latest on Khephren Thuram to Liverpool?

A £35m deal to secure the signing of Alexis Mac Allister has already been realised but the work in replenishing the midfield ranks does not stop there, and OGC Nice's Khephren Thuram has been of a vested interest to Jurgen Klopp's side.

That's according to Get French Football News, who state that after conferring with sources, it is understood that a 'provisional agreement' has been reached between the player and the Anfield side, though Les Aiglons are reluctant to sell and the 22-year-old has yet to request a departure.

With Nice potentially demanding as much as €60m (£52m) for the France international's signature, Liverpool would have to make him one of the most expensive midfield signings in their history, but he could be the answer to their struggles this season.

Should Liverpool sign Khephren Thuram?

James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all departed Liverpool upon the expiry of their contracts this summer, which has teed up space for replacements to not just bolster but vastly improve the collective calibre of the Anfield centre.

A plethora of names have consequently entered transfer circulation, with Thuram joined by Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone at the forefront of Schmadtke's shopping list, with Fabrizio Romano confirming of late that the Reds are interested.

However, a recent revelation from Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg has brought fresh news to light that, as it stands, a deal is "very unlikely" to be completed this summer as he is not a "top transfer target" for Liverpool, despite being available for €30m (£26m).

This could well be down to the sealed signing of Mac Allister and the pursuit of Thuram, who boasts a similar profile to his compatriot and is arguably the better option, as evidenced by their respective valuations and underscored by comparative metrics.

Indeed, as per FBref, the £14k-per-week Nice gem ranks among the top 6% of midfielders across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for progressive carries, the top 9% for successful take-ons, the top 25% for rate of assists, and the top 26% for interceptions per 90.

Kone, meanwhile, ranks among the top 23% for progressive carries, the top 4% for successful take-ons, the top 25% for tackles and the top 20% for blocks per 90.

While the Gladbach ace is a more grounded midfielder, both are combative and "tenacious" – as Thuram has been labelled by talent scout Jacek Kulig – and with the one-cap maestro excelling in his progressive approach, he could be the optimum signing to inject life and potency back into Liverpool's midfield.

He would certainly be a "fantastic" acquisition, as hailed by Nice coach Didier Digard, who also praised his "leadership role" – which could be invaluable after losing the wisdom, experience and guidance of Milner and co.

While Kone is a top-class talent, Thuram is the better pick and with the onus firmly on driving the squad back up the table next term, the instant success that the Frenchman could bring must be secured.

Everton May Sell £100k p/w Ace This Summer At Goodison Park

Everton midfielder Amadou Onana could be the 'most likely' player at Goodison Park to be sold this summer, according to journalist Paul Brown.

What's the latest transfer news involving Amadou Onana?

As per The Guardian, Chelsea have emerged as suitors for Onana this summer as they look to add some steel in the middle of the park at Stamford Bridge.

The report states that the £100k-a-week ace could be a natural replacement for veteran Chelsea anchorman N'Golo Kante, who is set to move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad at the end of the month.

Manchester United have also been monitoring Onana's situation as Erik Ten Hag seeks to add some more power to his options in the engine room and the Dutchman has signalled his intention to bring the Belgium international to Old Trafford, as per Football Insider.

Everton will play hardball with any sides that are keen on Onana and may demand up to £60 million in order to give themselves a platform for Sean Dyche to rebuild his squad this window, according to claims from the same outlet.

Financial difficulties have engulfed the Toffees of late and it is believed that they are 'under pressure' to sell Onana due to being in 'special measures' with the Premier League as a consequence of accumulating losses of over £370 million in a three-year period, as cited by The Daily Mail.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Brown thinks that Onana is one of the 'most likely' players to depart Everton this summer.

Brown said: "We still really haven't heard exactly what the player himself wants to do. I'd like to hear from Onana whether he really is committed to Everton for the long term or whether he does fancy a move to another club. That's the big question mark here. He didn't really pull up any trees the last few weeks of the season.

"You don't really want to be see your club sell any of its regular first team players… but if it comes to it, I think he's probably the most likely one to go."

Would losing Amadou Onana come as a blow to Everton?

In all likelihood, yes it would, seeing as Onana enjoyed a promising debut campaign as an Everton player and helped them to maintain their league status in the English top-flight.

In 2022/23, the 21-year-old made 35 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees, registering one goal and two assists, as per Transfermarkt.

Everton'sAmadouOnanareacts

Onana also stood strong in the tackle across the season and successfully averaged 2.2 successful challenges per match in the Premier League, as per WhoScored.

FBRef show that he also had the capacity to get forward from deeper positions and support his teammates, laying on 45 shot-creating actions in total.

Everton will want to keep hold of Onana this summer; however, it may be difficult given the calibre of side keen on taking him off their hands.

Arsenal Eyeing Approach For "Exceptional" £50m Gem

Arsenal are looking at stepping up their efforts to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber after having a bid of £30m rejected recently.

What’s the latest on Jurrien Timber to Arsenal?

The Eredivisie side rejected Arsenal’s £30m bid for Timber, but according to The Daily Mail, the Gunners are showing no signs of backing down and are set to go back in with an improved offer.

The Dutch side, however, are demanding a fee of £50m in order to part with their defender, and it remains to be seen if Mikel Arteta will make another bid in this region to sign Timber, or if he will move on to other targets instead.

Will Jurrien Timber sign for Arsenal?

The recent update suggests Arteta is keen on luring the Dutchman to the Premier League, and although the Gunners conceded just 43 times in the league last term – the joint-second lowest total in the top flight – the added rigours of Champions League football next season will ensure the Spaniard must strengthen his team.

William Saliba was one of their finest performers, averaging a Sofascore rating of 6.96/10, ranking him as their second-best defender, yet he missed the title run-in due to suffering from a back problem. Arsenal subsequently failed to win six of their 12 games without the Frenchman and perhaps the Premier League crown may have ended up in their hands had he remained fit.

The centre-back is wonderful on the ball, ranking in the top 12% across Europe’s top five leagues for touches per 90 (78.62) while his passing ability is also among the best on the continent, making 65.35 passes per 90, ranking him in the top 8% for this metric, and it’s evident that he is comfortable at playing out from the back.

Timber could form a solid defensive duo alongside the 22-year-old as he also excels on the ball. Across competitions at a similar level to the Eredivisie (as per FBref), Timber ranks in the top 1% for passes completed (74.79) and touches per 90 (90.62) while even being among the best for progressing the ball up the pitch.

Indeed, he ranks in the top 1% for progressive carries (2.38) and progressive passes per 90 (8.62), demonstrating his extreme confidence – and next to Saliba, the pair could take Arsenal to new heights.

Following a display against BSC Young Boys two years ago, talent scout Jacek Kulig lavished praise on the player, saying: “Not the tallest defender but his understanding of the game, anticipation, pace and ball skills are exceptional.”

And judging by his more recent statistics, £50m could turn into a shrewd piece of business by Arteta should he manage to sign the player this summer.

Leeds United Keen To Strike £10m Deal For Liverpool Giant Nat Phillips

Leeds United are keen to strike a summer deal to sign Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, according to reliable journalist Phil Hay.

Is Nat Phillips leaving Liverpool?

The Reds centre-back got promoted to Jurgen Klopp’s first-team when he graduated from the club’s academy back in 2019, but even though he’s been in the senior fold for four years, he’s always been significantly low down in the pecking order.

During his time at Anfield, the 26-year-old has been sent out on two loans to receive more regular game time, the first at Stuttgart and the most recent being Bournemouth, but since returning, his minutes haven’t improved.

The Bolton-born talent was handed just one start in the top-flight last season, so despite still having two years remaining on his contract, Football Insider have reported that the Merseyside outfit are happy to listen to offers for him during the ongoing window and there's a chance he could way on his way to the Championship.

Are Leeds signing Phillips?

According to Hay in his column for The Athletic, Leeds are “interested” in signing Phillips ahead of the 2023/24 term. Liverpool are looking to receive approximately £10m in order to sanction the defender’s sale and the admiration from the Whites is “believed to be irrespective” of any incoming head coach or sporting director appointments.

Daniel Farke, who is claimed to be the leading contender for the managerial vacancy, was “keen to recruit” the 6 foot 2 titan during his spell at Norwich City, and even though he missed out at the time, he could be finally set to secure his long-term target should he arrive at Elland Road.

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips.

Could Phillips be a good addition in Yorkshire?

Leeds will know that Phillips wasn’t given a proper chance to prove what he’s capable of last season, but when handed the small opportunity to play, the centre-back displayed bags of potential, so he would be a promising recruit for the 49ers.

He averaged two aerial wins per top-flight game during the previous term with his height and physcality having formerly seen him hailed “colossal” by journalist Josh Bunting, not to mention that he’s calm and composed in possession, recording an 86.6% pass success rate which was higher than any of the regular starters in Yorkshire.

Finally, Phillips has the versatility to operate out wide at right-back alongside his usual role, which will be an attractive attribute considering the injuries that have so often plagued Leeds' defensive ranks in recent years, so he would be a great option for the new coach to have available.

Man United: Ten Hag looking to seal "game-changing" signing

Manchester United's persistence to sign the highly rated Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana looks to have paid off as the deal has "progressed" as the club "look to close a deal out", claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

Manchester United transfer news – what's the latest on Dean Jones?

It could finally be the end of the road for David De Gea at Old Trafford as the Spanish goalkeeper's £375,000-a-week contract with the Red Devils runs out at the end of June, and any move to resign him look to have been put on hold.

According to the Athletic, the former Atletico man has communicated his desire to remain at United, but those within the club are 'relaxed' about the situation, feeling they have 'sufficient options to replace him.'

United's relative serenity around their goalkeeper situation probably stems from the club's chances of signing Cameroonian international Onana as a replacement for De Gea, as talks to bring him to Old Trafford have "progressed", per Jones.

According to transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, the Italian giants will want around €60m (£52m) for their brilliant shot-stopper, but that personal terms should be less of a problem as Erik ten Hag "knows the player very well since he was at Ajax, and they have a good relationship."

What has Dean Jones said about Andre Onana to Manchester United?

Jones spoke on the changing nature of United's transfer window and highlighted just how "game-changing" the signing of Onana would be for the Red Devils.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: "The signing of Onana would be game-changing for United – literally. The style of play would be altered and definitely for the better. What he has brought to the identity of Inter Milan's play is hard to praise enough, and as United look to close a deal out, it is pretty exciting.

"This was not a priority coming into the window but United are having to react to the circumstances they find themselves in and I am hearing this really has progressed."

Would Andre Onana be a good signing?

Onana would be an outstanding signing for ten Hag's project at United. Not only is there already a pre-established relationship between the player and manager, but he has also proven himself on the highest stage, the Champions League.

During Inter's run to the final, the 6 foot 3 colossus consistently impressed fans and pundits alike with both his brilliant skills with the ball at his feet and the fact that he still excelled as a traditional shot-stopper when the situation called for it.

Andre Onana Chelsea target

Rio Ferdinand heaped praise on the player after their win against AC Milan in the semi-finals, saying:

"[As a] modern-day goalkeeper, he's top class. He takes the ball under pressure, doesn't panic, and brings the other team onto him, which creates space around that.

"He plays over or through the press. He was fabulous tonight in doing that."

He also had a great year in Serie A last season, with WhoScored giving him an average rating of 6.72 across his 24 appearances.

If the Red Devils can secure his signature in the coming weeks, they could be a completely different proposition for teams next season.

£60m Liverpool Signing Reveals Advice From Man City Rival

Moving house is something that we all dread. It arguably sits right next to running late for a flight on the list of things that can result in things that human beings haven't quite figured out how to deal with in a calm manner yet.

If anyone knows how to move house in an orderly fashion, however, it should be footballers. Such is the frantic nature of the transfer window, players can find themselves on the move within a moment's notice, forced to settle into a new town or, as is often the case, a new country.

With that said, a bit of advice must never go amiss. And that's exactly what Manchester City star Erling Haaland has given new Liverpool man Dominik Szoboszlai.

The duo played for Red Bull Salzburg together, and have clearly remained friends since.

What's the latest on Dominik Szoboszlai and Liverpool

Szoboszlai is Liverpool's biggest signing of the summer so far, arriving for a reported £60m, as the Reds look to rebuild what was a struggling midfield last season.

The 22-year-old joins Alexis Mac Allister on the list of arrivals at Anfield, with Southampton's Romeo Lavia also linked with making the move to Merseyside this summer.

By the end of the window, if Jurgen Klopp has signed three new midfielders, he may consider it a successful transfer window and one which could see his side competing for the league title, or at least finishing in the Premier League top four once again.

Last season, Liverpool finished outside the Champions League places for the first time in a full season under Klopp, and that clearly sent alarm bells, as the German has not messed about this summer, already spending close to £100m.

What did Haaland say to Szoboszlai?

Speaking about his Liverpool move, Szoboszlai revealed the advice that Haaland gave him, telling Nemzeti Sport, via Goal: "We've talked. So much so that Erling Haaland has also advised on finding real estate, and it could very well be that we become neighbours.

"I learned from him that several players live halfway between Manchester and Liverpool in a quiet area where privacy can be preserved, and on Monday I will see what he was talking about, I am very curious. And of course, putting our friendship aside during the Liverpool-Manchester City matches, it will surely be a fantastic experience to play against each other.

Erling Haaland

"I'll do some training on Monday, I have some paperwork to do, and then look at some potential properties where I'd like to live. Then I have to go to Leipzig, pack up my stuff, say goodbye to my former club, thank everyone for their support, love and encouragement and then to Budapest. But on the 10th at the latest I will be back in Liverpool because on the 11th I will be training for my new team."

Liverpool's first pre-season game takes place against Karsruher in Germany on July 17, in an upcoming fixture which could see Szoboszlai and Mac Allister make their debuts for the Reds.

Man United Transfer News; Cash-Plus Player Offer For Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United have reportedly made a cash-plus player offer for Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund, however, the Serie A side have rejected the proposal.

Are Man United signing Rasmus Hojlund?

The Red Devils and Erik ten Hag appear to be after more signings following a move was secured for midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea.

However, it is believed that United have around £100m to spend this summer, which means that player sales could be needed at Old Trafford, with up to 13 members of the squad possibly moving on over the coming months.

Andre Onana is a top target in goal following David de Gea’s departure, and it is believed that a verbal agreement is in place with the Champions League ahead of a transfer worth around £47m.

The Cameroon international has already agreed on personal terms with the Red Devils, and reports have suggested that Hojlund has also reached an agreement with United, with the Denmark international revealing earlier this year that he is a “huge” Red Devils supporter.

"Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan.

"So personally, it would be one of the biggest things for me, but of course that doesn’t mean that I would turn down other big clubs if the offers come at some point.".

It now looks as if the Red Devils have firmed up their interest by making a proposal to Atalanta for the forward. According to The Athletic, Manchester United have offered players plus cash for Hojlund during talks with the Serie A side, however, they have turned down the offer as they only want cash and value the player at £85.5m, a figure United see as excessive.

The report names Fred and Donny van de Beek as potential players who could have been offered, with both midfielders missing the first pre-season game against Leeds United on Wednesday.

Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund

How good is Rasmus Hojlund?

Hojlund is only 20 years of age but has already made a mark in his first season with Atalanta, with his Transfermarkt valuation rocketing to a career-high €45m as a result.

He contributed to 14 goals in 34 games last season and was even compared to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. Labelled as “scary quick” by journalist Sacha Pisani, Hojlund has also been hailed Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who also picked up on the forward’s pace and described his technical quality as “remarkable”.

“Hojlund has this spirit, energy, intensity, but also technical quality that is just remarkable.

"He still has so much margin for improvement, too. He is so quick, he’s under 11 seconds over 100m and that’s not even trying very hard. Considering his height, he has a low centre of gravity and can move his legs very fast. I am convinced he’ll have a great career, he just gets stronger every day.”

An out-and-out centre-forward who appears to be going from strength to strength, Hojlund could be just what is required in attack in both the short and long run, but with Atalanta holding out for a cash payment, a transfer could prove to be tricky.

Premier League Side Eyeing £2m Rangers defender

An update has emerged on a possible exit for a Glasgow Rangers defender ahead of the 2023/24 Scottish Premiership campaign…

What's the latest Rangers transfer news?

According to The Sun, Premier League side Nottingham Forest are 'lining up' a swoop to sign Light Blues left-back, Borna Barisic during the summer transfer window.

The report claims that they are keen to sign the Croatia international to solve their full-back woes after Renan Lodi returned to Atletico Madrid at the end of last season.

It states that Forest sporting director Ross Wilson, who left Ibrox earlier this year, is now ready to raid his former team to bolster Steve Cooper's squad.

There is no mention of how much the English outfit are prepared to pay for his services but it does say that the Gers could demand a fee of around £2m.

How old is Borna Barisic?

The Rangers defender is 30 and now in the final year of his contract with the Scottish giants, which means that this could be the perfect opportunity for Michael Beale to cash in on him.

Barisic turns 31 in November and this interest from Forest would allow the Gers to potentially replace him with a younger option in that position to compete with Ridvan Yilmaz, instead of handing a new deal to a player who may be heading into the final years of his career.

Beale must ruthlessly ditch the Croatian veteran as his defensive performances left far too much to be desired last season, with his lapses in concentration at the back post making him a liability at times.

Former Celtic midfielder Kris Commons wrote that the full-back 'nods off like a security guard' in defence and described him as the 'weak link' in the Rangers team, who could be specifically targeted by the opposition to cause damage to the Glasgow giants.

Glasgow Rangers defenders Borna Barisic and James Tavernier.

Pundit Stephen Craigan also stated that the 30-year-old dud "can’t defend his back post" and claimed that he is not going to learn to improve that aspect of his game at that age.

Rangers finished seven points behind Celtic in the Premiership table last season and Beale must not leave any stone unturned this summer in his attempts to build a side that will be capable of wrestling back control of the division next term.

This is why brutally binning Barisic from the squad could be a shrewd piece of business for the English head coach amid this interest from Forest as the Light Blues would be moving on a player who has proven himself to be a liability in defence.

The £18k-per-week dud could be immediately replaced by 22-year-old talent Ridvan Yilmaz, who has time on his hands to develop and grow with more experience at Ibrox, after the ex-Besiktas man started five games in May at the end of last season.

A potential fee of £2m could also allow Beale to dip back into the market to bring in another left-sided option to compete with the Turkey international for a spot in the team.

The 42-year-old tactician could target a defensive-minded player who is capable of guarding the back post to stop the likes of Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda from sneaking in to score easy goals in the Old Firm matches next season.

Burnley Considering Swoop For 35-Year-Old Premier League Stalwart

Burnley are considering a surprise swoop to snap up Jonny Evans on deal this summer, according to a report from Belfast Telegraph.

Are Burnley signing Jonny Evans?

The 35-year-old played for Leicester last season but could only manage 13 Premier League appearances in total, 12 of which were actual starts. With the Northern Irishman falling down the pecking order – and the Foxes falling down the divisions – they opted to release the defender at the expiry of his contract after five seasons of service at the King Power Stadium.

Evans though is not currently a free agent, with his former side Manchester United having snapped him up to a short-term agreement ahead of their pre-season tour. That arrangement though may not last into the actual campaign – although it isn't entirely clear how long he is actually signed to Old Trafford for.

Should United decide to let him go after they have done their work ahead of 2023/24, then it appears there could be other suitors keen to snap him up. One such side is Burnley according to the Belfast Telegraph, with the Clarets now looking to ensure they are fully equipped to compete in the Premier League again after their promotion.

They haven't made a bid for him yet but do appear to be fans of the experienced ace and may consider bringing him into their backline so that they have a knowledgable head in their squad who knows the division well.

How many games has Jonny Evans played?

There's no questioning that Evans most certainly knows how the Premier League works and could provide invaluable knowledge to some of the younger members of the Burnley team if he was to join. He spent seven seasons with the Red Devils in total and racked up 131 top flight appearances for the club, winning the title on three separate occasions.

He also had over 100 outings for Leicester and can even call upon three season worth of experience with West Brom too. He knows what it takes to compete at the very top of the division then and has plenty of time spent scrapping near the bottom of the table too.

In total, his total gametime in the top tier stands at 356 appearances, 339 starts and 14 goals with 13 assists to boot.

Leicester centre-back Jonny Evans.

Despite being 35-years-old now, Evans could certainly still offer plenty to the Burnley defence should he sign. His former teammate Wayne Rooney, who is now in management, has recently heaped the praise on the experienced pro, calling him "fantastic".

He has bags of games under his belt, knows the league inside out and is clearly still highly regarded as an option at the back. Considering that he could also be available for nothing, it could be a smart bit of business from Vincent Kompany should he opt to add the centre-back, even if only on a short-term deal. That is though, if United decide to part ways with the centre-back rather than keep him for themselves next season.
